From Qi Monism to Yin and Yang

Ancient Chinese culture is the long-term precipitation and development of monistic system thought. Its fundamental theory is always about the change of the energy of Qi.

“Yi Jing” and “Tao Te Ching” both tell us: Everything is inseparable from Yin and Yang, and it must have both Yin Qi and Yang Qi. Changes in the four seasons, birth, old age, sickness, and death in life are the result of the growth and decline of Yin and Yang.

Qi is invisible and untouchable energy that runs through the whole universe. The world‘s change is all about the Qi energy flow between Yin and Yang. Chinese medicine is cosmic medicine; Qi is a kind of cosmic energy. This energy produces everything. Where there is life or no life, it exists.

“气聚则生, 气散则亡 tells when Qi gathers, life is produced, and when Qi is dispersed, life dies. The Buddha said: when the 5 elements of Qi: Wood, Fire, Earth, Gold, and Water come together under certain conditions, a life is born. Without Qi supporting humans, life is over.

Qi is not only reflected in the breath but in all things. Its energy is immensely large. Imagine how heavy the heaviest thing around us is, Qi can move it. Mountain is very heavy. Qi can definitely move it because the mountain is no heavier than the moon, the earth, and the sun. The ancients said: the atmosphere lifted the earth and the earth is nothing more than a table tennis ball floating in the sky. Universe Qi can hold up the earth, so can it the mountains. Not only can the earth, but the Qi can also move the solar system, the Milky Way galaxy, the whole universe. It is everywhere.

Wherever Qi goes, it controls everything. Without Qi, there is no agriculture, no medicine … no life.

How does this energy manifest a human life? Parents give birth, energy gives life. It is Qi that continuously supplies life. A person is constantly absorbing energy and growing. It is the same for humans, plants, and animals.

As the essence of ancient Chinese culture, the Yin and Yang theory covers all aspects of the universe. It explains: Why do we have four seasons? It is because of the conversion of Yin and Yang between the universe, the sun, and the earth. Why do people get sick? It is the imbalance between Yin and Yang in the human body.

Yin and Yang are two opposite sides of the same thing: up and down, left and right, north and south, white and black… Yin and Yang have a distinct character of the opposition. There is Yin in Yang and there is Yang in Yin. They are interdependent to each other, support each other, contain each other, transform into each other, and complement each other. Their relationship is best described in the image of Taiji. Refer to figure 2 below.

Observe them by eyes: Anything that is upward, sporty, warm, and positive belongs to Yang. Conversely, down, static, cold, and negative belong to Yin. The largest representative of Yin and Yang: Heaven and Earth. There are others like sun and moon, day and night, man and woman, male and female…

Taiji

Modern philosophy tells us that things are relative, not absolute. Although the sky, the heaven, is Yang, divided by how the sky presents to humans through a day, it is Yang during daytime and Yin at nighttime. Although it is Yang during the daytime, it can be further divided into Yang in the morning and Yin in the afternoon.

Yin and Yang can be divided indefinitely. Eventually, it reaches the atomic level. An atom is very small. Inside it, the nucleus is Yin due to its static, and the electrons surrounding the core are Yang due to the movements. Can atoms be divided again into smaller Yang and Yin? YES. Nobody knows if there is a world inside a cell of our human body, just like our universe is like a cell of a huge person, or, a huge creature.

Take a human as an example: a man is Yang, a woman is Yin; on a person, the front is Yang, the back is Yin; the upper is Yang, the lower is Yin. On one hand, the thumb is Yang, and the other four fingers are Yin. The palm of the hand is Yang and the back of the hand is Yin. From a mathematical point of view, odd numbers are Yang, even numbers are Yin.

From traditional Chinese Medicine’s point of view, in the human body, Yang meridians are active, warm, and fast; Yin meridians tend to be still, cold, and slow. So, the meridian that runs on the inner side is called the Yin channel, and that on the outer side is called the Yang channel. With this principle in mind, let us raise the arm: the inner side of the arm is Yin with extraneous fat accumulated and the outer side is Yang of mostly muscles.

The function that runs the human body is Yang, and the food and drink are Yin. Food and drink can produce the essence of energy that maintains the function of the Yang of the body through biochemical actions and nourish the body Yin through gasification.

Very importantly, for a person, the spirit is Yang, the body is Yin. Why? The human spirit embodied through the human heart and brain exudes human vitality upward and outward. The introverted, precise, and stable human body is the carrier and material foundation of the human spirit.

Yin and Yang in the human body are relatively balanced. This means: human spirit and body are balanced; human functions and basic food and water energies are balanced.

When Yin and Yang are biased in the human body, excess of Yang energy or excess of Yin energy causes hyperactive or weak Qi and Blood, and causes meridians to go abnormal. Then, people are sick.

Static Is A Big Move

Einstein’s theory of “Relativity” has a point: the speed of light is the limit speed of the three-dimensional world. The Scale Reduction and Clock Slowness effects show that as long as anything reaches the speed of light, it slows down the time to a speed of 0. It can be assumed that things moving at the speed of light are relatively static for all surrounding objects that also move at the speed of light.

Stillness is relative.

When a bus runs on the street, we feel it is too fast to catch. But if we are on the bus, we cannot feel it’s moving at a steady speed if we do not look outside.

When a flower blooms quietly, the time of a universe of flowers is used up.

We live on the earth, although our Mother Earth rotates at a speed of four hundred and sixty-six meters per second at its equator, we cannot feel it, neither talk about the orbital speed of the earth around the sun of approximately 107,000 kilometers per hour.

All important processes of life happen slowly in a quiet status. Humans come into this world, bringing their own spirit to combine with the fertilized egg, and then returning back to the universe, it is all in the same quiet. All the processes of human growth happen slowly and silently. No one can go from one year old to twenty years old quickly and soundly…

In the long river of time, in the vast universe, individuals are humbled as dust in this time and space. What one can decide is how to use his time.

Everything in the universe is moving. Static is a quiet movement, a prolonged state of life function, a rare thing that carries infinite power.

  • Fruit, grain, flowers, plants grow statically;
  • Deep sleep heals the human body;
  • Rests relieve the human mind;

Where does Earth’s energy come from? It comes from long term static accumulation of sunlight and the slow chemical/physical effects inside the earth.

Lao Tzu said: Root is the source of life; root represents stillness. When a human calms down like a young baby, the brain is clear, and he can feel more happiness.

There are comparisons between people:

A person with a weak liver has a big temper, is irritable, and hard to be quiet; A person with a soft gentle personality is calm with healthy liver function.

Bloody sticky people are suspicious, lack judgment, carry an uneasy mood; but a steady and calm person is decisive with smooth blood circulation…….

For people who are getting puzzled in handling complex and difficult matters, most of the time it is due to loud noise inside and being self-annoyed. But in a static state, the mind, and body are completely calm with a reflection on the inner self, and people may suddenly become cheerful.

In absolute health can people be quiet and calm; being quiet and calm, can people gain health.

Mr. Nan Huaijin said: “No matter what kind of disaster you encounter, you just need to be calm. And quietly observe it change.”

This “observe” means “观” in Chinese. It neither contains an eye “目”, nor a heart “心”, nor a mouth “口”. It means: close our eyes and mouth, do not judge by heart, but reflect and communicate to the inner consciousness, and regain the awareness.

Mr. Nan Huaijin also said: “When a person can be quiet, it is a great movement, and it is the body and energy of a person sitting there quietly for a sports meeting.”

No matter when, our best secret weapon is being calm: not leaking energy through negative emotions, but reserving it for all good outcomings.

The root cause of many diseases is the lack of “slowness” which caused the lack of energy. For example, neurasthenia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and some others are common mental illnesses caught by people in a state of mental and psychological life that is too fast and excessively anxious.

Why do Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity… attach so much importance to “reflection” and “confession”? They are calling for looking and listening inward.

In a fast-developing hustle and bustle society, everyone has their own private journey to be completed independently by themselves step by step. Solitude is a life course that everyone must go through. About this “solitude”, there is a short story:

A boat traveling across the river and suddenly hit by a boat, a grumpy man on the ark immediately shouted to the hitting boat, a call wasn’t listened to, then another not listened to, when about to bristle, he found that the hit ship was empty. The scolding stopped, he burst into laughers!

With others, we are always in a social state; only in solitude, we are close to the natural state.

To be alone is to walk towards ourselves. When we are not forced to talk to others, we have time to talk to ourselves.

Society can reflect one’s external value, but solitude can shape one’s internal value. It is the most essential and most expensive freedom.

Enjoying solitude is a gesture. It is the attitude of walking through the complex world, not in a hurry, but quietly enjoy the season of bright flowers or wait for the purity of the snow. It is humble and gentle, standing aloof from worldly affairs, but has pride and sharpened edges and corners.

As soon as the mind turns its direction, the spirit turns, and the direction of the life train turns. When a person’s body is seriously ill, its life train has been in the wrong direction for a long time.

BUT, the mind can be turned to a new direction at any time, starting from the heart and head.

Dream, the 4th Dimensional Space

Today, we talk about a disruptive theory, for sharing and discussions.

A one-dimensional space is simply a straight line. Two or more straight lines form a 2-dimensional(2-D) space.

When two or more 2-D spaces are superimposed, forms a 3-dimensional(3-D) space.

It is a feature that living in 2-D space cannot feel the existence of 3-D space, but the 3-D world can see the 2-D space.

So, in the 4-dimensional(4-D) space, can we use the same mathematical models to connect two cubes together to represent it?

Unfortunately, in the 3-D world, we cannot draw a 4-D cube, because we cannot find a 4th axis to make them perpendicular to each other.

In the same way, the 3-D world can be seen in the 4-D space, but the 4-D space cannot be seen in the 3-D world.

For a 4-D world, all the restrictions in the 3-D world do not exist.

A simple example: we put a key into a safety box, close it, set the password. As a person in the 3-D world, you don’t know what’s in it until opening it. But for a person in a 4-D world, what’s in the safety box is clear.

Just like: In a 2-D world, put a picture frame in a box in front of you, you never know that is drawn on the picture. But for a person looking at it from a 3-D world, it is easy at a glance.

The four-dimensional (4D) world is a purely conscious world, which is what we call the higher self, thought, or soul. It is an immaterial existence.

This 4D space is both inside and outside of our three-dimensional (3D) space, both above and below, both on the left and right. It is everywhere; our 3D is just a small projection of the 4D.

For example – a dream:

When you are dreaming, your body is in a 3D world, but your consciousness enters another world. In the dream, you are not limited by time and gravity, you can fly in the sky, you can see your dead relatives or the people you miss, and you can go to strange worlds…

And your feelings are very clear, wake up crying, be scared, or wake up in a cold sweat. The feeling of dreams is very real, just like the feeling in reality.

It is because you return to a pure 4D world in your dream.

The 4D world that you went back to when you were dreaming, has the waking you. You can regard your daily life your real dream. You sleep at night and dream, but you are actually awake.

You live in a 3D world; it is just a projection of you in the 4D space.

Time, Space, and Matter in a 3-Dimensional World☯️

Time, space, and matter are the existence of the twin brothers of the trinity. They make up the entire universe in a 3-Dimensional world.

Space is the container of matter; matter is the entity of space, and time is the witness of the catalytic evolution and growth of space and matter.

A particle of dust, an atom, a ray of light, a planet, even a galaxy, are all manifestations of matter, and these things all exist in space.

Although space is inseparable from time, it is a form of existence opposite to time. After the Big Bang, the state of the universe began to emerge from nothing. The positional difference between objects is measured in space, expressed in terms of length, width, and height; position changes are measured by time, one-dimensional forward and never looking back.

Space is an attribute of matter and a measure of matter’s performance. How to prove the existence of this space? It is matter. Therefore, there is no space without matter, and there is no existence with matter but without space.

Our entire universe is filled with celestial matter molecules and atoms, but the density is different.

The movements of matters from high density to low density are called #change which never stops.

Does the Horse Like a Tailwind or a Headwind?

Ancients knew our nature very well and had been telling us to live in harmony with nature.

Today, when I read my favorite ancient book, a section describing the mutual positions of stallions and mares where horses rest at night attracted my curiosity as my brain quickly related it to our society.

Then it tells how to deal with adversity: in winter in the countryside, by looking for the bird’s position on the tree you are able to know the wind direction. If a bird perches on a branch on the east side, an east wind is coming; on a branch on the west side, a west wind coming. Because: birds like headwinds. Joining the tailwind, the overturned feathers would leave the bird to freeze to death.

In the same way, horses like headwinds. With a large amount of air easily to be sucked into galloping headwinds, horses are comfortable and run fast when the wind blowing along with their hair.

With the development at full speed of modern science and technology, we pursue comfortable life and transform/utilize our nature, reaching an unprecedented level. But, what happened to the animals, the planet? And, are we in harmony?

What Does It Look Like to Magnify a Cell 1 Billion Times?👀

In the laboratory, using a microscope, scientists magnified cells by 1 billion times. A complete universe appeared in front of their eyes. It was almost the same as the basic structure of the macro universe we live in. Is this a coincidence?

Some scientists believe: the universe itself is a huge cell. It belongs to a living “body”. Every one of us, including everything in the world, lives in this huge cell, following its rules, going through a process of birth and death, similar to how our body cells live to our life.

For us, the universe is boundless, but for the living body in which the universe is located, it is just a microcosm.

What if we compare the universe to a living body? Will we find that the universe is like a human cell? It has a complete set of operating systems, such as the Earth, the solar system, and even the Milky Way galaxy. All operations are very regular.

BUT, if we want to break this rule, will it cause the universe to start a self-protection system and enter the “big cleaning” mode – like a self immune system working against diseases and illnesses, trying to clean bacteria and viruses in a human body?

Consciousness Creates

Consciousness is like a vast ocean. Viewpoints are undulating waves on the ocean. When we decide to change, change begins. Consciousness makes the change.

A glass of water can be considered half full or half empty!

Everything is like this and every point of view is interesting. It tells a story about us, awakens the power of our creation. These ideas are like the software conscious computers use to create reality. The design of the software coding process affects the outcome of this reality: right or wrong, big or small, good or evil…

If we think: I’m in a financial crisis, my finances can’t be good.
The conscious universe responds: that’s it! We will experience scarcity or poverty.

If we have a negative view of bad timing, a danger, or some insecurity, we’ll be nervous and unhappy… This viewpoint will root in our mind; result in our painful experience of a lot of problems…

No matter how severe the external environment might be, if our perspective is positive and confident, the universe will unlock its treasures to us when the time comes.

Great leaders have great perspectives and thus create great reality.

At crisis time, we need great perspectives in guiding our choices: love over fear.

Good morning!🌸💧☕
